Description
Umbrella has nine whalebone ribs that support a repaired brown cotton canopy, with corded edge; hand sewn with a back stitch; dome shape; rib tips, spike and runner are all engraved brass; wood stick has a handle with a carved design of either a conch shell or a bird's head

Provenance
Daniel Perrin (1763 - 1838) was a Revolutionary War hero. The umbrella was donated by a descendant, along wiith many other well-documented artifacts.
According to Maria Vazquez, this umbrella may date to a time after 1829 because it has a top notch that was patented in 1829 by John Hopper.
