Description

Susan used her connections to Rhode Island to acquire a variety of printed fabrics that ultimately ending up as scraps and individual quilt hexagons. Containing over 150 different fabrics, this quilt displays examples of all major dye and printing technologies in use during the early nineteenth century.  The color palette is achieved via natural dyes such as indigo and matter and newer mineral dyes such as Prussian blue, and chrome yellows.
